The Process
After winning “Best Post Card Design” amongst all the senior interactive and graphic design majors, I was put in charge of creating the final design of the post card that announces the senior show. The focus of the design is Miller and S'ville, our local and treasured swans on campus, as well as the university colors - black and gold.
The sketch originally pulled from an art nouveau inspired design, which is subtly reflected in the final design. The goal was to have the post card’s design reflect both Millersville University and design. Millersville is reflected through the campus swans, and design is reflected through the hand drawn typography. As expected, the originally sketch was reworked a few times, specifically the placement and hierarchy of the text.
This post card was completely created by hand in Procreate. Here is a time-lapse of that process.
