The Process
The project was to take a short story and create an illustrated book. The short story was provided by my grandmother, which she had written in 1995. The goal was to create seamless illustrations throughout the book, that, while created digitally, still had elements of traditional art to it.
I started by first doing research, creating a mood board, and sketching out various thumbnails for potential spreads.
After several versions of spreads, the illustrations of the picture book were finalized, and text was added. Below are the final spreads for the picture book.
